CAMERON is from (Whangarei-New Zealand) and acquired his
musical training from an early age studying classical piano and clarinet through the Trinity and Royal Colleges of Music, London. Theatre and the orchestra during high school provided the inspiration for his musical career and introduced him to other instruments such as the saxophone. University in Auckland provided CAMERON with the opportunity to perform with "The Queen City Big Band" playing contemporary jazz before joining "soul on ice" and releasing several successful singles nationally.
CAMERON continued to work with various groups including "Fanfare" and r&b group "Cabana" writing original material and contributing his skills to the group, before setting up his own jazz based group "moonlighting". CAMERON joined "KANTUTA" in late 1989, bringing with him the saxophone and later introducing keyboards. His blend of rhythms soon lent his individual influence to the contemporary latin sound of "KANTUTA".
